Adolph Gottlieb (American, 1903-1974) Manner of: Abstract Landscape. Oil on canvas, signed lower right, framed.
For Gottlieb the burst symbolized the dichotomy between uniformity and chaos. His oeuvre crescendoed with the Burst series which he began in 1957 and continued to expand upon until his death in 1974.
25 x 21 inches framed; 19 x 15.5 inches canvas.
Private Collection, Boston.
Good condition with the exception of a small indentation, in the upper left, where something was pressed against the canvas resulting in a small crack and paint loss.
