Gaston Hoffmann, French, 1883 to 1960, a painter, decorator, cartoonist, and illustrator in France and Quebec throughout the first half of the 20th century. This painting is part of Hoffmanns series of humorous scenes featuring young women baring it all before a shocked and titillated audience inside a courtroom.
