An antique limited edition photo engraving on wove paper, In The Reign Of Terror, 1891, after Jessie MacGregor, English, 1847 to 1919. From Charles M. Kurtz, Illustrations from the Art Gallery of the Worlds Columbian Exposition, Philadelphia: George Barrie, publisher. Engraved by Eugene A. Champollion, French, 1848 to 1901. Signed and dated in the plate lower right. Signed in the plate by the engraver lower left. Additionally inscribed in pencil lower left. Copyrighted 1893 by Geo Barrie upper to the center. Jessie MacGregor is a British artist known for Still life and genre painting. She won a gold medal at the Royal Academy for history painting in 1871. She was the second woman after Louisa Starrs gold medal in 1867, and the last woman to do so until 1909. Antique Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
