A pair of mid-20th century barro negro art pottery figurines by Dona Rosa. The figures represent ducks with carved decorative details. Dona Rosa, full name Rosa Real Mateo de Nieto, 1900 to 1980, was a Mexican ceramicist from Oaxaca, Mexico. She is credited with the invention of a technique for making black pottery, also known as barro negro, that has a distinctive black metallic like sheen.
