ANTIQUE JAPAN WOODBLOCK PRINT BY TOSHIAKI NAKAZAWA
Toshiaki Nakazawa, Japanese, 1864 to 1921, an original antique woodblock print, Sino Japanese War, Battle of Motianling, Japanese Second Army occupied the canon fortress at Motianling, Matenrei in Japanese) in Sino Japanese War, from the series, The First Sino and Japanese War, 1895. Published by Tsunashima Kamekichi. Inscribed upper right. Inscribed and a red seal, lower left. Toshiaki Nakazawa or Toshiaki Yusai was a painter and print designer active between c.1887 and 1900. Born in Fuse village to the west of Edo, Toshiaki was a student of Yoshitoshi Tsukioka. Antique Asian and Oriental Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
Dimensions: Size: (L) 36.3 x 24.5, (C) 36.4 x 24.8, (R) 36.2 x 25.1 cm. Condition: Paper residue on the back, vertical creases, pinholes, cut on right panel and left panel.
