RUSSIAN PORTRAIT LITHOGRAPHS BY ALEXANDRE YAKOVLEV
Alexandre Yakovlev, also spelt Jacovleff, Russian, 1887 to 1938, two color lithographs on paper, after charcoal paintings, African paintings made during the Citroen expedition to Central Africa, second Haardt Audouin Dubreuil mission, 1927. First: a portrait of a Gadem, elephant hunter, signed, dated, and inscribed, lower right. Second: a portrait of a Morrocan semi nude woman, Arima Bossonou, Femme Kanembou, NGuigmi. Signed and inscribed in the print, lower right. Both are framed. Alexandre Yakovlev, also spelt Jacovleff, 1887 to 1938, a Russian emigre artist of neoclassicist movement, student of Dmitry Kardovsky. Russian and Asian Portrait Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
