ANCIENT CHINESE ZHOU DYNASTY BRONZE SPEAR HEAD
An ancient Chinese Zhou dynasty bronze spear head cast in a simple flat two parts mold, used to be mounted vertically. The Zhou dynasty was the longest dynastic regime in Chinese history, employing bronze for weapons, which are relatively easy to cast and much more effective than their stone counterparts. When they appear in burials, they represent the fighting power of their owners and were, presumably, the weapons they had used in daily life. Dates from 1046 to 256 BC.
