HELIOGRAVURE BY CHARLES AMAND DURAND AFTER REMBRANDT
Heliogravure on paper by Charles Amand-Durand, 1831 to 1905, a French printmaker and pioneer of photogravure technique, author of a series of facsimiles of old master prints. The lot is a reproduction of the 1648 engraving titled Self Portrait, Drawing at the Window by Rembrandt van Rijn, 1606 to 1669, a prominent Dutch Golden Age artist. Stamped on the backside: Amand-Durand after Rembrandt, ref. no. 22. White mat, white frame. Collectible Graphic Art Prints.
