1840 CIVIL WAR ERA AMERICAN EAGLE OFFICERS SWORD
An American Civil War era 1840s Eagle pommel officers sword with a scabbard. Ornately carved one piece grip with gilt bronze stylized knuckle bow with screaming eagle open beak pommel. The open beak is gripping an oval wreath at the top end of the knuckle bow. Languets contain spread wing Federal Eagle facing proper right with a US shield on the chest. The scabbrad is adorned with etched foliage and scrollwork ornaments. US Arms And Weapons, Daggers And Swords, Historical Collectibles.
