Erte or Romain de Tirtoff, Russian, French, 1892 to 1990, limited edition color lithograph on wove paper, The Mirror, 1982, after the cover of Harpers Bazaar, August, 1920. Signed in pencil, lower right. Numbered, 3 of 300, lower left. Matted. Romain de Tirtoff was a Russian and French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erte, from the French pronunciation of his initials. He was a 20th century genuis artist, graphic artist, illustrator, set designer, fashion designer, sculptor of the Art deco era, Russian origin, who worked in Paris and Hollywood.
