Gouache on paper painting by Eugene Lanceray. The artwork depicts a group of people dancing and playing musical instruments. Presumably a sketch for a book illustration. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Handwritten notes in Russian on the mat. Eugene Lanceray, 1875 to 1946, Russian and Soviet artist. Academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Peoples Artist of the RSFSR. Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR. Laureate of the Stalin Prize, second degree, 1943. Son of the sculptor Evgeniy Lanceray, brother of the artist Zinaida Serebryakova, and architect Nikolai Lanceray. Collectible Russian Graphic Art.
