An antique English oil on board painting. Circa early 19th century. The artwork represents a fragment of a female face with one eye. Eye miniatures, also known as lovers eyes, became extremely popular in Britain around 1780s. They were commissioned as gifts expressing devotion between loved ones or in memory of the deceased. Gilt wooden frame. Collectible Fine Art, Historical Relics.
