ANCIENT ROMAN EGYPTIAN BIRD AND FLOWERS MOSAIC
An ancient Roman Egyptian mosaic, depicting a bird sitting on a branch with flowers, presumably lotuses reflecting the artistic sophistication and cultural syncretism of the period. Early Roman Egyptian period, circa 100 to 200 AD. Framed. Mosaics such as this were often used to adorn the floors and walls of villas, celebrating nature and mythology.
