MARVIN CONE AMERICAN RURAL LANDSCAPE OIL PAINTING
Oil on board painting by Marvin Cone, 1891 to 1964, an American artist based in Iowa, a prominent figure of the Regionalist movement. The artwork depicts a panorama of a rural settlement. Signed by the artist in the lower left. Undated. Golden frame. Cone sought to evoke his inner vision of nature rather than to create a realistic depiction of the rural landscape. To him, nature was a vehicle for revealing certain truths, making his paysage paintings philosophical and filled with inner tranquility. Collectible Fine Art, American Realism.
