"Breslov Chassidim, who follow the teachings of the holy Gaon Rabbi Nachman of Breslov" – a draft of a recommendation for the building of a synagogue for the Breslov Chassidim on Mt. Zion in the Old City of Jerusalem, 1940

A draft of a recommendation by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky, rabbi of the Eida HaCharedit in Jerusalem, regarding the construction of a synagogue for the Breslov Chassidim on the summit of Mt. Zion in the Old City, on a plot of land received from the managers of Batei Machaseh, headed by the rabbi of Pressburg, asking Jews in Europe to support this project. An excerpt from the text: “Chassidim and men of deeds, Breslav Chassidim, who follow the teachings of the holy Gaon Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, whom anyone who sees his holy books will attest was a holy man and the outstanding rabbi of his generation.”

On the reverse side of the typed draft is an introductory draft in the handwriting of the well-known community leader Rabbi Eliahu Nachum, the son of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Porush, who was a trustee of the Eida HaCharedit and a member of its board in Jerusalem.

the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky (1867-1949) was a rabbi in the communities of Galanta, Hust, in Hungary, and made Aliya in 1932 to serve as Av Beit Din of the Eida HaCharedit in Jerusalem, as the successor to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld.
