Notes: The distinctive gift of the Military Order of the Tower and Sword is a five-pointed star in white enamel outlined in gold, resting on an oak crown in green enamel outlined and fruited in gold, with a golden and illuminated tower between the two upper points. in blue, the star being charged, in the centre, with a circle of gold with a sword in blue enamel, set in a band over an oak wreath in green enamel and enhanced with gold, all surrounded by a circular border of blue enamel threaded with gold , with the caption "Valor, Lealdade e Mérito" in gold capital letters. On the reverse, in the centre and on a field of white enamel, a shield with the coat of arms of the kingdom, on the 1st per pale and the mention "CARTA CONSTITUCIONAL DA MONARQUIA", on the 2nd pper pale with a circular border of blue enamel threaded with gold with the caption in gold capital letters "PELO REI E PELA LEI".
