A BYZANTINE TERRACOTTA LANTERN
4th-7th century CE. With cylindrical body, conical top, large square opening, body perforations and a high hanging handle. In very good condition. 15.2 cm high. For a similar lantern, see: J.W. Hayes, Ancient Lamps in the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, 1980, p. 143, no 564, Pl. 221. Ex S.M. collection, Herzliya Pituah.
