Gdolim Maasey Hashem by Rabbi Eliezer Ashkenazi, Warsaw [1871]. Copy of Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin. On the protective page personal owner's stamps: 'Meir Shapira Av Beit Din and Rabbi Pietrekov', another stamp of the main library of the Lublin. Also on the back page, another stamp of 'Hachmei Lublin Yeshiva'.
Bound with 'Twelve Drushim' by Rabbu HaRa"N, Warsaw 1875, and with 'Twelve Drushim' by Rabbi Mintz, Warsaw [1875]. A separate title page for each book.
Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin [1887-1934] - Rabbi of Lublin - one of the leaders of Polish Jewry in the interwar period, and of prominent Agudat Israel leaders. A tremendous genius who returned Torah to her glory at the foundation of the 'Chachmei Lublin' Yeshiva. Founder of Daily Page Learning.
Exlibris of 'Israeli books in Poland Saved from Extermination in the Years of the 1940 - 1945' Among the pages of the book is a handwritten page with "seven blessings". Old cardboard binding. Good condition.
