antisemitic poster - Nazi Germany
A double-sided poster warning of Jewish takeover of Germany. Germany, c. 1930s. German.
On the front are four figures of famous Jews as leaders of revolutionary movements in a stereotypical and vile way - among them Oscar Cohen (1869-1934 German Jewish lawyer, Zionist and socialist politician. Member of the German and Prussian parliaments Independent Democrat of Germany), the journalist Karl Radek (1885-1939, a Jewish-Galician descent. He first worked in Poland, then in Germany and finally in the Soviet Union), Bella Kun (-Cohen - 1886-1940 - Hungarian communist leader. Among the founders of a Soviet republic in Hungary which lasted for 133 days in 1919. After the collapse of the republic he was exiled from Hungary to the Soviet Union. Eliminated in the late 1930s in one of Stalin's purges).
Alongside the Jewish figures are four German figures from the leaders of antisemitic racism in the first decades of the 20th century - in a dignified and inspiring manner, among them the antisemitic agitator Theodor Fritsch (1852-1933 - Politician, member of the antisemitic party "The Antisemitic German Union" which sought to abolish the emancipation of German Jews. Author of antisemitic books that have been printed in many editions, such as "The Guide to the Jewish Problem"), Dietrich Eckert (1868-1923 - German journalist, playwright, poet and politician. One of the forerunners of Nazism and the founders of the German Workers' Party, which was the early incarnation of the Nazi Party), and And Erich Ludendorf (1865 1937 one of the leaders of Germany in the First World War. He was initially one of the early supporters of Adolf Hitler).
On the back of the poster are hateful words warning of German takeover by the Jews. The poster reads that if the German people do not wake up soon, the slogan 'Germany for Germans' will soon become 'Germany for the Jews'.
