"Haverenu" - Student newspaper of "Tachkemoni" - Jerusalem, 1922-1931

A volume containing issues of the newspaper "Haverenu", dealing with student affairs, published by students of the "Tachkemoni" school. Jerusalem, 1922-1931.

A volume containing about 74 issues, published by students of the "Tachkemoni" school in Jerusalem. The school was founded in 1909 on Rabbi Kook Street and it became a stronghold of the Mizrachi movement and religious Zionism in Jerusalem, educating thousands of students, with social and religious pluralism, both among the teachers and the students. The articles in the newspaper deal with the heritage of religious Zionism in its early period and include articles about Theodor Herzl, the blue charity box, the Jewish National Fund, Maccabi, as well as religious articles on subjects such as the Western Wall, the holidays, the sages of Israel, and more. The first two issues appearing here, opening volume 1 year 2 of the newspaper in 1922, were handwritten and stencil printed. The rest of the issues were printed in various fonts, some printed in blue ink, and they are accompanied by photographs and illustrations. The theme illustration by artist Aharon Shaul Schor shows a Yemenite boy studying sitting on the floor next to a boy in pioneer clothes (signed in the plate in all).

Volume 26.5 cm. Some issues have trimmed margins. The issues are bound in an old cardboard binding. Good condition.
