The Studio was an influential illustrated magazine on fine and decorative arts published in London from 1893 to 1964. It is considered the most influential art magazine of the 19th and early 20th century, playing a central role in the development of Art Nouveau movements. The magazine featured articles on a wide range of art topics including painting, sculpture, architecture, decorative arts, and photography. The Studio was one of the first magazines to use color reproductions, which greatly contributed to the popularity of color in art magazines.

The most significant innovation used in the issues was the adoption of photo-mechanical printing which photographically transferred an image onto a half-ton metal block. This technique allowed for the first time faithful reproduction of the middle tones and colors found in paintings and photographs. For this reason, Clive Ashwin called The Studio "the first visually modern magazine". The beautiful illustrations are what made it popular and so influential.

The founder and first editor was Charles Holme. After extensively traveling Europe, Japan, and the United States, he conceived the idea of "mixing cultures" - presenting one country's culture to another to promote international understanding and peace. Accordingly, the magazine was international, in France it was published in French with a different design than the English edition in Britain, and there was also an American edition published in New York by John Lane & Company from May 1897 to 1921, and by International Studio, Inc. from 1922 until it ceased publication in 1931. The issues feature works by leading international artists including Aubrey Beardsley, Pablo Picasso, Edward Burne-Jones, Alphonse Mucha, Paul Cézanne, and others. The magazine was published monthly, with a total of 853 issues published between 1893 to 1964. Throughout this period, the issues were printed on glossy, high-quality paper giving them the appearance of a leading art catalog.
