This booklet was typewritten and stencil duplicated which came out in Lodz for Israel's first Independence Day celebrations in May 1949. It opens with the full text of Israel's Declaration of Independence in Hebrew. It continues with articles in Yiddish about the achievements of the Zionist movement from its beginnings. The booklet extensively covers the road to the Jewish state from the First Zionist Congress and the struggles of the Zionist movement until the founding of Israel, overviews of the waves of Aliyah to Eretz Israel, the Poalei Tziyon movement and its contribution to the independence struggle, the Holocaust, the Ha'apala and deportation to Cyprus, the Jewish Brigade, establishment of Hebrew settlements, key events in the War of Independence, and more. On page 26 there is a folded map of Hebrew settlements in Eretz Israel, and more.
