ARTE de Cozinha. Devidida em tres partes, a primeyra tratta do modo de cozinhar varios pratos de todo o genero de carnes, & de fazer conservas, pasteis, tortas, & empadas. A segunda tratta de peyxes, marisco, frutas, hervas, ovos, lacticinios, doces, & conservas pertencentes ao mesmo genero. A terceyra tratta da forma de banquetes para qualquer tempo do anno, & do modo com que se hospedarão os Embayxadores, & como se guarnece hũa mesa redonda à estrangeyra. Third edition of this classic work of Portuguese cuisine, which went through many different editions until the 19th century. Little is known about the author, only that he was cook for the Count of Vimioso, to whom he dedicates the book, and master of the Royal House's Kitchen during the time of D. Pedro II. Born in Vila Cova, in Lamego, he died in Lisbon in 1719.
