Trojano Bocalini (1556-1613), Italian satirical writer, was governor of some cities in the pontifical states and later settled in Rome. His writings, however, aroused several enemies, forcing him to take refuge in Venice. Among his works is a libel against the Spanish, his main work being this work that we present in a Spanish edition. Bocalini is one of the characters who provide dialogue with D. Francisco Manuel de Melo called Hospital das Letras. Rare.
