Transfer of Alvará de D. Pedro V authorizing the foundation of the Institution of mercantile transactions, commission business, deposits, discounts, mortgages and insurance, whose founders would be Barão de Lagos, Luiz de Castro Guimarães and Anselmo Jose Braamcamp. The credit institution that is the subject of this document is the General Association of Commerce and Hipothecas. Transfers incorporate: (1). the royal authorization, the Deed of Foundation and the 52 articles of the Company's Bylaws; (two). Terms on which the subscription of thirty thousand shares of 45,000 reis each, founding capital of the General Association of Commerce and Hipothecas, dated March 1, 1858, and signed by the Baron of Lagos is made; (3). Document justifying the need and usefulness of financial credit institutions, with comparative analysis with the English banking system and other similar institutions.
