Israel art. Felicja Blumental Portraits. 1999. Tel Aviv Museum of Art. HC. 60 pages. 25 x 18.5 cm. 450 grams
The book "Felicja Blumental: Portraits" was published in 1999 in conjunction with an exhibition at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. Edited by Professor Mordechai Omer, the 60-page volume features photographs, paintings, and drawings of and by the renowned Polish pianist and composer Felicja Blumental. The text is presented in both Hebrew and English.
Felicja Blumental (1908–1991) was celebrated for her interpretations of Chopin and Mozart, as well as for championing lesser-known composers. She collaborated with prominent 20th-century composers, including Heitor Villa-Lobos, who dedicated his Fifth Piano Concerto to her. In 1999, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art honored her legacy by naming its International Music Festival after her.
The "Felicja Blumental: Portraits" exhibition was held from May 10 to 15, 1999, at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The accompanying catalog provides insights into Blumental's life and her connections with various artists.
