Miniature pendant with a medal made by Rouchomovsky. Odessa, 1898
Obverse: farmers working in the field, above them an inscription reading: "Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you" (Hebrew). Beneath is the artist's signature, "Rouchomovsky Odessa" and the inscription: "I first have declared it to Zion" (Hebrew). On the margins are the verses: "Raise a standard toward Zion, flee for safety, stay not" (Hebrew) and "And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing" (Hebrew). Reverse: worshippers at the Western Wall, inside a Star of David-shaped frame and decorations in vegetal motifs. On the margins are the verses: "If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither" and "For thy servants hold her stones dear, and have pity on her dust" (Hebrew).
Diameter: 16 mm. Imperial Russia silver mark 84. Good condition, slight wear. Please watch the photos for self-grading.
