Two Zionist silver medals - San Remo Conference 1920
1: Silver Medal Amulet - Year of Redemption, 1920
Silver medal, apparently used as an amulet. On one side it shows the letters “Shadai” in Hebrew within a Jewish star. On the other side: "Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks”, a quote from Song of Songs. Dated at the bottom: “year of redemption, 1920”. The medal was issued to commemorate the San Remo Resolution. Apparently minted in Palestine, 1920. Diameter: approximately 3 cm. small hall punched on top, please see photos.
2: San Remo conference silver medal - Italy, 1920 Weight: 11.14 grams. Diameter: 29 mm
On the medal is a figure of a Jew with a hammer meeting a Jew from the biblical period. On the other side is the inscription If I forget you, Jerusalem. And note the date..
Medals issued in honor of the San Remo Conference. The San Remo Conference was an international conference held in San Remo, Italy, from April 19 to 26, 1920, attended by the states of the First World War allied , discussing the division of the former Ottoman Empire between European powers. The San Remo conference was attended by prime ministers from the UK, France, Italy and Greece, and representatives from Japan and Belgium.
