HOOVER HERBERT: (1874-1964) American President 1929-33. Fountain pen ink signature ('Herbert Hoover') and date, 1917, in another hand to the upper edge of a vintage colour postcard featuring an illustration of old houses in the Grande Place of Brussels. With a newspaper image of Hoover (bearing the printed caption 'Mr. H. C. Hoover - Saved Belgium from famine') neatly affixed to the left edge and two further related newspaper clippings affixed to the verso. About VG
