MacDonald thanks his correspondent for having sent him a copy 'of the volume in the Whitehall Series on the War Office' and continues to remark 'The education of the public in the work of the great Departments of State, which you have undertaken in the Whitehall Series, is certainly a very worthy object. I congratulate you on the volumes you have already produced and I certainly wish you well in your further efforts'.
