HUSSEIN SADDAM: (1937-2006) President of Iraq 1979-2003. A printed slim oblong 8vo presentation card, signed in Arabic by Saddam Hussein in bold black ink with his name alone at the base. The cream card features three lines of green printed text in Arabic, 'A Gift from the Leader, Warrior Saddam Hussein to the Commanders of the Revolution and the Leaders of the Baath Party....' and dated 1980. Enclosed within a clear plastic square to the left of the text is a silver coloured commemorative coin featuring an image of Saddam Hussein. Accompanied by the original envelope. A rare and unusual presentation. VG
The presentation coin was apparently discovered among the papers of former Deputy of Parliament Abdel Majeed Al Rafee during the civil war in Lebanon.
