SCHILDKRAUT JOSEPH: (1896-1964) Austrian actor, Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actor in 1937 for his role as Captain Alfred Dreyfus in The Life of Emile Zola. A good, rare vintage signed and inscribed sepia 7.5 x 9 photograph of the actor standing in a three-quarter length pose as he raises a glass towards an oil painting of an older gentleman which hangs on the wall at his side. Signed by Schildkraut in bold black fountain pen ink to a light area of the image, 'To my friend Abe Loeb - with admiration for his artistry - best, Joseph Schildkraut', and dated March 1942 in his hand.
