Challah Knife of Rebbe Rashab of Lubavitch - With Certificate of Authenticity Signed by Rebbetzin Chanah Gurary
Challah knife, with a silver handle (French hallmarks); Paris, second half of 19th century or early 20th century.
Letter of authenticity enclosed (handwritten note, in English), signed in Hebrew by Rebbetzin Chanah Gurary (1899-1991), eldest daughter of Rebbe Rayatz: "I hereby gift… the challah knife of my grandfather the Rashab. He bought it in France during one of his trips there. He told me that it is our Minahag to use a smooth knife and not with jagged edges based on many Seforim. There is a French Minerva hallmark on the handle. My grandfather used this knife in Lubavitsh and Rostov".
Approx. 32 cm. Good condition. Minor damage.
