Stroudsburg, PA Stroudsburg Bank $2 June 1, 1861 PA-630 G4 Graded g6 By PMG. A VG8 Sold In A Heritage Auction For $445 This note was printed by New York Bank Note Co. (W. L. Ormsby) and is from an entirely different series than notes printed by the bank earlier. The bank did not become a National until 1887 and it is hard to say whether this series was redeemed or not by the 1887 chartered bank. However, it is a very scarce type. This note features the popular vignette of a steaming locomotive.
