Ha'Machriz, booklet of propaganda of the "Degel Yerushalayim" movement. Published by the 'Jerusalem' Federation. London, 1919. Single edition.
The booklet was distributed in Jewish communities in Israel and around the world in order to motivate Jews to join the new movement founded by the Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Kook: 'Degel Yerushalayim', beside the Zionist Movement.
The movement was active for dozens of years (almost until the establishment of the State in 1948) and within its framework, the 'Merkaz Ha'rav' was established, Rabbi Kook's writings were printed, dozens of congresses and lectures were organized and important public activities took place for the building of the land of Israel.
The content of the booklet:
A call for "an honorable, kosher world, of the Jews". Written (anonymously) by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Kook.
A public appeal by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Kook.
The goals of 'Degel Yerushalayim' by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Kook. Among the goals: "To establish a large Yeshiva in Jerusalem … with many branches, as departments for all subjects of the Torah …"; "To try and keep in touch with all the rabbis all over the world …". At the end of this article, there are practical regulations of the movement. Among others: "Young people can establish special groups named 'The Youngsters of Jerusalem' … women can establish societies titled 'The Girls of Jerusalem'…"
A public appeal by the rabbis of England in support of 'Degel Yerushalayim'. At its end, a short letter by Rabbi Kook.
"A note about the establishment of a worldwide yeshiva in Jerusalem", by Rabbi Kook.
