Painful Letter from the Time of the Holocaust, by Refugees, European Rabbis who Immigrated to the Land of Israel before the Holocaust, about Their Difficult Situation – Jerusalem, [1943]
An official letter of the "Society for Supporting Rabbis for Strengthening Religion in Jerusalem". 23rd of Menachem Av 1943. Sent to Rabbi Gurevich a rabbi in Melbourne.
In the letter, the members of the committee, which was established "in order to support rabbis and Torah scholars in need", describe their difficult situation and their straving families.
The letter is signed by four rabbis of the committee, Rabbi Yisrael Taussig (previously a Dayan in Mattersdorf), Rabbi Meir Chaim Unger "Av Beit Din of Lakenbach", Rabbi Menachem Ze'ev Schik "previously a Dayan in Takai" and Rabbi Zvi Schenk of Vienna.
