nude woman resting on a bed with her arms folded behind her head, red chalk on light cardboard, signed and dated in pencil lower right "Brüne (19)66", minimal creasing, sheet measures approx. 29.5 x 39 cm. Artist's info: Germ. Painter, draughtswoman and graphic artist (born 1941 in Berlin), 1947 family moved to Leipzig, 1956-59 apprenticeship as bookbinder, attended the evening academy of the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (HGB) in Leipzig, from 1961 studied at the HGB under Bernhard Heisig and Heinz Wagner, 1966-77 freelance and collaborator in the studio of her later husband Bernhard Heisig, 1979-99 teaching position at the Burg Giebichenstein Art Academy in Halle, 1987 awarded the Art Prize of the GDR, 1988 participated in the Venice Biennale, 1991 married Bernhard Heisig, 1999 moved to Strohdehne, Source: Eisold "Künstler in der DDR", Internet presence of the artist and Wikipedia.
