Shakespeare William. Shakespeare. Library of Great writers. Full collected edition in 5 volumes Collected edition of Shakespeare edited by S.A. Vengerov, with drawings in the text and numerous pictures on separate sheets, published in 1902-1904 by Brockhaus and Efron. In five semi-leather bindings with gold stamping on the backbone.
A significant part of Shakespeare's plays has long been available in Russian in the transmission of many talented translators, this edition includes translations: P.I. Weinberg, P.P. Gnedich, Apollon Grigoryev, A.V. Druzhinin, P.P. Kozlov, A.I. Kroneberg, Vsevolod Miller, Fyodor Miller and A.L. Sokolovsky. Sonnets and poems are given almost entirely in a new translation, in which K.D. Balmont, P.I. Weinberg, V.S. Likhachev, M.N. Minsky and others took part. Each play is provided with historical-critical prefaces and (at the end of volumes) historical-literary notes.
Condition: Good - very good. There are abrasions on the leather of the backbone, the corners of the binding covers are knocked off, in some volumes separate illustrations fall out, the seals of non-existent departmental libraries.
