Pair of Portuguese silver candlesticks, 19th century. Baluster-shaped shaft decorated with striated friezes. Seated on a scalloped and hexagonal base. With Oporto assay mark (P-25.0a), in use from 1810 to 1826 and LARA maker’s mark (P-453.0a), attributable to Luís António Rodrigues de Araújo, dated from 1810 to 1836, remarked with an old man’s head in use since 1985. Dents and defects. (2) Weight approx.: 724 g.; Height approx.: 23 cm.
