Kasamatsu Shiro "Hot Spring in the Morning" Woodblock Print
Kasamatsu Shiro (Japanese, 1898-1989). Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print titled "Hot Spring in the Morning, " depicting the hot spring at Nozawa in Shinshu province in the morning. The vapor rises and is illuminated by the early morning sun streaming in through the windows. Marked in the plate along the lower right with two seals. Marked along the lower right margin with the Watanabe Publishing Company D seal, indicating a printing date of 1931-1941. There is a Japanese inscription to the left margin.
