Roullet & Decamps Automaton Peacock - Works
Roullet & Decamps, France. Medium-sized automaton peacock. Naturalistically formed with real peacock feathers and a clockwork walking motion in which the fantail rises upwards. The motor works and the peacock strolls forward well. With the original wooden triangular box.
R&D created three sizes of the peacock model: a life-size one with music, a medium-sized model - offered here - without music, and a much smaller model without music. These automatons are highly prized by collectors for their realistic form and dynamic movement.
