Set 18 Chinese Qing Dynasty Ink Sticks
Set of 18 Qing Dynasty Chinese ink sticks with fine details depicting scholars, figures, and nature, 19th century. With gilt inscription along the upper right corner and verso of each. Housed within two lacquered wood cases with bands of gilt decoration and a three-character inscription along the cover.
(Ink sticks, each) height: 2 1/4 in x width: 1 1/4 in x depth: 1/4 in. (Cases, each) height: 4 1/2 in x width: 7 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/4 in.
Condition: There are no major breaks, losses, or signs of restoration to the ink sticks. Wear to the cases consistent with age including scuffs, splits, and wear along high points. Heavy wear to the fabric lining the cases. There is a loss to the upper edge of one of the cases.
