Siddur Tefillas Nehora HaShalem - Nussach Ashkenaz - Slavita 1832. Two Parts In One Volume.

Presented here is the Slavita edition of Siddur Nehora, compiled by R. Aharon b. Yechiel Michel HaLevi. First published in Barditchev in 1811, Siddur Nehora was one of the most popular Hebrew prayer books published during that time. It was well received by all, including leading Torah scholars and Chassidic Rebbes.

Published in two parts, with a separate title page for part II. Includes prayers and supplications for use throughout the year, with various explanations of the prayers and words of Mussar. It also includes the Haggadah, as well as prayers for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Unique to this 1832 edition is the “Shir HaYichud” supplement at the end of the volume (pp. 319-326), which is not found in earlier Slavita editions. A striking “Shiviti” Menorah flanked by two deer can be seen on verso of pp. 100.

This edition was published in Slavuta by Shmuel Avraham Shapiro in 1832. Slavita imprints have long been favored by Chassidim and their Rebbes, and remain in high demand till today. It is believed that Slavuta imprints bring blessing into one’s household since they were crafted with utmost Holiness and purity. In addition, they are also well-known for their quality, black letterpress font - an uncommon printing feat in the early 19th century. During their prime, the Shapiro family press was cherished and respected by all, and was undoubtedly one of the leading Jewish printing presses throughout the Russian Empire.

This edition is particularly rare and is not found in major library collections.

A well-used, worn copy in overall good condition. Lacking the first title page, the following leaf, and one additional page (page 97?, quite possibly never present due to a printing error), otherwise complete. Paper repairs to several leaves; at times with loss of text. Page 96 accidentally bound out of order after page 98. Pp. 97-99 mostly torn, repaired with significant damage and loss to text. Bound in original binding, rebacked and restored.

5-184, 189-191; [1], 189-296, 305-312, 305-326 pp.

Approx. 18.5cm
