Filipino Bakunawa Mask, 20th Century - Large wood carved Bakunawa mask from the Philippines. Fantastically detailed wood carved mask with large sharp pointed teeth, devilish eyes, terminating spikes, and pierced wood work throughout. Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon, believed to be the cause of earthquakes, eclipses, rain and wind. Size 24 3/4” L Condition: Good condition throughout with some patina to base and reverse.
