Aztec Celestial Beast Stone Panel, 1325 CE - 1521 CE
Pre-Columbian, Central Mexico, Aztec 1325 CE - 1521 CE celestial beast with an eagle head and the body of a jaguar or anthropomorphic human. The right upper corner with a circular pierced disc. Moon to the top left of the panel. The beast itself Sejant Erect sitting up with his paws raised up. Size 9 1/4" H x 7 1/4" W x 1 1/8" thick

Condition: Good with no visible breaks. Wear to edges and surface commensurate with age and use. Manganese deposits to the face / rear with some red staining to reverse probably from moisture.
