LUFTWAFFE OFFICER'S SWORD
Early Luftwaffe sword by Paul Weyersberg with nickle silver mounts. The pommel as well as the crossguard still retain excellent detail, and the oak leaves encircling the pommel are undamaged. The perimeter is undented. The feathers on the crossguard likewise appear to be in superior condition. The grip is carved wood covered in blue Moroccan leather, one small chip at top, with the wire wrapping still tight. The blade is marked by maker Paul Weyersberg and is 30.25 in. long. The tip is slightly bumped and the blade would benefit from a light cleaning, as would the fittings of this heavily-tarnished piece. No scabbard is present.
