DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Pere (1802-1870) French Writer whose historical novels of high adventure include The Three Musketeers (1844).
An attractive vintage signed sepia carte-de-visite photograph by Dumas, the oval sepia albumen image by Pierre Petit of Paris depicting the writer in a formal half length pose. Signed ('avec mille compliments Alex. Dumas') in fountain pen ink to a clear area beneath the image. Photographer's imprint to the lower mount and verso. VGDumas is one of the most widely read of French writers and his works have inspired more than 200 motion pictures.
