VOSTELL WOLF: (1932-1998) German Painter and Sculptor. A pioneer of Happening and Fluxus. Signed `Vostell´ to the lower right corner, also dated 23rd October 1990, in his hand. Inscribed in Spanish `To Sebastia and Conchita of Girona´. The German artist has also added an annotation in an artistic way, stating `Madame du Barry, dreaming about a night at the Olite Palace!´ also in Spanish. A very artistic bold black ink drawing. Folded, with very small remnants of former mounting to the four corners verso, otherwise VG £800-1200 The Palace of the Kings of Navarre of Olite was begun around the 13th century. At one time it was regarded as one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe, but was later abandoned and burned in 1813 to prevent it from falling into the hands of the French. Countess du Barry (1743-1793) Jeanne Beçu, was the last mistress of King Louis XV of France. Known for her great beauty and extravagant dresses. She was beheaded during the Reign of terror following the French Revolution.
