Complete Pamphlet of Torah Novellae of the Chassam Sofer, Entirely Handwritten by his greatest Talmid the Maharam Schick.
Sixteen pages (sides) of Torah novellae from the Chassam Sofer on tractate Nedarim, handwritten by his most outstanding student, Rabbi Moshe [Maharam] Schick, as dictated by his holy Rebbe, the Chasam Sofer. The Maharam Schick was still very young then, studying in Pressburg.
8 leaves, written on both sides = 16 pages. 19 X 24.5 cm. Excellent general condition, in a few places the letters are slightly faded – mainly at the margins.
The greatest of the Chassam Sofer’s students was the Gaon Rabbi Maharam Schick (1807-1879). The teachings of his rabbi were engraved on his heart and his practices and customs were like a crown on his head from his youth when he entered Pressburg yeshiva until his old age. Maharam Schick did not give a single lesson or sermon without mentioning the teachings of his rabbi, and he had special notebooks in which he wrote down everything he had heard, or had copied his novellae.
