Signature of the Rav Hakadosh Rav Shalom Toib of Rozdol, on the Torah Novellae of the Chasam Sofer
Handwritten signature of Rav Shalom Toib of Rozdol, brother of the Admor of Kaliv Zatzal, on the Torah Novellae of the Chasam Sofer on Masseches Gittin. Munkatch 5656 [1896].
Harav Hatzaddik Rav Shalom Toib, son of Harav Hakadosh Rav Yehuda Yechiel Toib of Rozdol and son-in-law of Harav Hakadosh Rav Meir Leiper. He was a Gaon, Tzaddik, and Holy. His Grandfather- Rav Pinchas Chaim of אורלא commented about him that he has a portion of Rav Tzvi Hirsh of זידיטשויב's incredible brainpower. He perished in Auschwitz together with his entire family on the 11th of Sivan 5704. The signature on the title page is from Monday, Parashas Toldos, 5704.
The following is written in the signature: Be'ezras Hashem, LeHashem Ha'aretz Umlo'ah, this belongs to me, Shalom ben Avi Mori VeRabi, Hagaon Hatzaddik HaAv Beis Din of ראזלא in גרוו"ד, (for which I) paid 25 zehuvim. Monday, (Parashas) Toldos 5704.
